Island Waldorf School (IWS) opened in September 2017 for Foundation Year students (aged five and six). The aim is to continue the Waldorf curriculum which is adopted in a number of HK Kindergartens. Classrooms are movable and there are replacing desks and chairs with multipurpose benches and cushions, students can freely re-arrange them for different activities. As students progress through the curriuclum, Waldorf relies upon and encourages the creativity of teachers. The innate flexibility and resilience enables it to be adapted for a variety of settings, languages and cultures.
