Canadian International School of Hong Kong is renowned for its academic innovation and its welcoming and supportive community where athletics, arts, and extracurricular activities play an equally important role in the development of our students as academic rigour. CDNIS’ future-ready programmes promote academic excellence, the development of character, and strong engagement both locally and globally. One of Hong Kong’s most preeminent international schools, CDNIS is a not-for-profit, independent school which offers a rigorous academic programme to over 1,800 students representing more than 40 nationalities. Since 1991, CDNIS has drawn on the strength of its Canadian and Chinese foundations to create a unique learning environment for children from Early Years 1 (pre-kindergarten) to Grade 12 on one campus. An IB World School, CDNIS offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma, Middle Years and Primary Years Programmes, in addition to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). CDNIS is the only school outside of Canada where students graduate with both the IBDP and OSSD. Completing two distinct diplomas provides CDNIS students with a balanced education while allowing them to gain acceptance to some of the world’s most prestigious universities. The new Early Years Bilingual Programme, launching in August 2022, will provide CDNIS’ youngest learners with a unique dual-language, cross-cultural learning experience. Both the International and Bilingual streams will guide a child’s language and cultural fluency in a nurturing but rigorous learning environment. CDNIS is recognized as a Green School reflecting its long-held conviction that its school community has a collective moral responsibility to value and protect the natural environment, particularly by conserving resources and avoiding waste. In 2016, CDNIS renewed its sustainability commitment on environmental matters, placing a stronger emphasis on active measures that reduce the ecological footprint of its campus and facilities. In 2019, CDNIS installed a 349-panel Photovoltaic Farm and in 2021, CDNIS was awarded BEAM (Building Environmental Assessment Method) Plus Interior Platinum status from the Hong Kong Green Building Council for its eco-friendly renovation of its 6/F cafeteria. CDNIS is proud to be accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
